Cast belief out

We need a foreboding tenant

To guard the fort, and pay the rent

In historical Lewes, just over the way

We’ll only be back for Bonfire Night day

To burn crosses and effigies

Bang old cannons with the band

Inviting skirmishes with the neighbours

Before it all… gets out of hand…

And we start making more laws

Instead of maintaining our oath

To save ourselves from our flaws

And our tribe’s unhealthy growth

Go cast belief out…

To fight with doubt

They know it’s a front for our mission

To fight the power, subvert and ramp…

Historical re-enactments and scenarios

Into indoctrination at winter camp

When the locals stop singing, they begin to shout

Bring the tuning forks in, and get the pitchforks out

Beyond hope in the valley, past the old prison to rally

Between the rock and hard place to avoid the wipeout

So take the king up the hill, for the kill

Let his blood spill, and issue the threat

Consent parliament, to represent, our intent

To clear the debt, and never let, tyrants forget…

We cast belief out…

And fight with doubt

I’m an anarchist. Oh, you’re so naughty

Maybe try harder to cooperate

I’m a misanthrope. Sure, some folk are bad

So, does everyone deserve your hate?

I’m a nihilist. Yes. You may be meaningless

But the whole world? What’s your point?

I’m a sceptic. Spread doubt and smear fear

On the greasy pole, that you anoint

I’m an agnostic. Your lot, can’t know anything

Despite being surrounded by clues

I’m an atheist. No, there couldn’t possibly

Be a higher being than you
